*TRIGGER WARNING: THIS PAGE INCLUDES IMAGES OF FAKE INJURIES, BRUISING AND BLOOD*
As part of my last year 12 project, creating a short horror film, we were tasked with researching make-up and SFX to incorporate into our horror films. Through a series of workshops, we tried and tested methods of using different forms of make-up and materials to create certain effects in film.

Once we had completed all the workshops needed, it was time to focus on how we wanted to use makeup in our own horror films. For this, we planned as a group what makeup we wanted to include and how we wanted it to look. Then, we broke it all down, figuring out what looks are used in which part of the script, along with a hypothetical budget for how much money may be needed to buy the equipment necessary for our makeup looks.

And finally, it was important for us to know the rules we must put in place when handling makeup, to ensure the health and safety of our crew and cast members. Here, I wrote about the precautions that must be taken, the risks that those who use makeup should be aware of, as well as the best way to handle materials such as glues, solvents and paints.
