Advertising
(CDM 322)
1.1) To start off our first project, advertising, we were assigned the task of analysis. This meant reading closely into well known adverts- Of our choice. For the assignment, I chose three of my favourite adverts to look into, and took notes on things most people wouldn't realise, but which actually help draw viewers attention and get stuck in your head. In addition, we were tasked with exploring media advertisements- Which I then took mine from my Instagrams suggested feed.
1.2) After this, our project moved further on into the advertising unit, where we were able to start making our own adverts from topics and products provided. Mine had to be promote Boomsatsuma T-shirts, which I further edited on my own on Premiere Pro, and uploaded to my Youtube channel in the link below. I wrote about my mock ad intentions, as I did when analysing other adverts; And although improvement can be made, and done without a plan or specific audience to hook in, I was rather impressed with my first advertising creation.
The finale
1.3) After this, we moved forward and proceeded with the finale task of our advertisement sector- Advertising for a real company. For this, we were paired off in groups and asked to find a local business or shop we would like to film and promote. After discussion, we decided to go with a company which I knew personally, called Bristol Blue Glass. With this companies permission, our group mission was to film two adverts for the business; One as a 30 second normal video, the other as a short 10 second ad for social media stories or reels. The whole process included much thought and creative flow, including a mood-board that linked to our story board. I also included a matching colour palette to help get a feel for the aesthetic i wanted. These are my final results:

With my overall ideas (storyboard, mood-board and colour palette) secured, we were able to fill out all the necessary forms- Including a kit list, shot list, Wednesday and Thursday shooting schedule, Wednesday and Thursday call sheet, and a recce document; As well as having all members of the crew who were to be filmed, sign a model release form each. These included timings for the days, and things needed, so everything went as smoothly as possible while our filming days.

Once everything was ready, after filming all the shots needed, I was finally able to start turning my ideas into reality.
On Premiere Pro, I was able to play around with my chosen shots, and create my two Bristol Blue Glass adverts.
