As a group we have decided to create our short film based off another idea. The story follows a young girl who stops off in an AirBNB for the night, unknowing to her that a creature is going to hunt her down. The creature will eventually kill her and transform into her.
We chose this idea because we liked the idea of something being able to transform and being able to use makeup and costume to create something like that. We also chose this idea as it was probably the creepiest one out of our pitches and had elements we all liked.

Horror Film Evaluation
The strength overall of the horror film was that the villain was a really good horror character because the character was very mysterious and plays into the horror genre. The creepiness of the character looked quite gory and scary. Overall, areas to improve the build up of the film and the pace could have Benn better - jump scares would have Benn good to include and there was only one peak of the film and doing more fo these would keep the audience interested. The duration of the film was good and we didn’t have to squeeze into too much and enough time to develop the story but some of it could have been written differently with some parts of the story changes.
0:16 Time Stamp
In the introduction I noticed that the camera was a bit jittery which wasn’t planned as we used tripod and we should have used a gimbal for some scenes - this is the opening of the film and mistakes really early make a bad impression. I could have used a stabilisation tool in Premiere Pro but unaware of how to use it.
0:28 Time Stamp
I think the shot of the character cooking up the stairs is really different and interesting because not what you would expect as usually you would follow a character from behind but looking down on the character assuming the character is submissive and not in control - in a hour film thats key.
0:51 Time Stamp
The shot directly above the character is unique as the character is led not the bed and it sth firs time we see the chapter close up. You get to see the characters emotions close up. For better continuity it would have been more impactful to cut when the character landed on the bed instead of waiting.
2:!4 Time Stamp
This scene is really good because the camera is really close up at a low single which gives shadow on the characters face. The lighting is dim and dark and this makes it was to cut in a close cup of the monster with mini cuts to black to keep the pace frantic and more tense - this than cuts to a close up of the monster taking off their skin. Also, due to the faulty I had to cut in and out fast to cover up the makeup and some of the focus so I didn’t want it to linger on the screen too long.
