Recreating Movie Scenes
For our unit covering single camera techniques my group had free choice on what film scene we could recreate. After discussing many different films and how hard they would be to recreate the group chose the interrogation scene from "Now You See Me", Directed by Louie Letterier. With Mark Ruffalo as a cop and Jesse Eisenberg as a quick talking Magician. In the scene Jesse Eisenberg is being interrogated. The scene is tense and uses handheld over the shoulder shots to create an unnerving feel surrounding the two characters dialogue as they play a verbal game of wits and ego.
Pre- Production
When preparing for our shoot we watched the scene numerous times and attempted to get an idea of every shot and camera movement included, writing shot types and descriptions on our shot list so that we could refer back to them later.
After we had gathered some quickly understandable descriptions of the shots we would need to complete we transferred them into a similar document called a shooting script where we ordered the shots into the most practical order to shoot on the day. This aimed to make it as efficient as possible to deal with time constraints so we wouldn't have to do things like change lighting set ups or get correct framings and unnecessary amount of times
Following this we completed our risk assessment for the project, ensuring that we where fully aware and prepared for any safety concerns. Then was the kit list which we filled out in order to have all the necessary equipment in writing to book out with Mark our kit manager
Lastly, in our preproduction phase we took down every group members role and contact number so that nobody could go inconveniently missing on the day of the shoot without us being able to contact them
